[1NA] Chapter 7: The Particulate Nature of Matter

Key Ideas

  • Matter exists in 3 states: solid, liquid and gas.
  • Whenever the matter changes its state, DURING the process of changing, the temperature remains constant (e.g melting point and boiling point)

Word Choices

  • When describing the movement of the molecules, you need to remember the appropriate term for different state. Use the terms ‘vibrate‘ for solid and ‘move‘ for fluids (liquid + gas).
